PAUL CURRAN | DIRECTOR, PRACTICE PRINCIPAL

Bachelor of Architecture, Qld University of Technology; Registered Architect in Qld & NSW: Fellow Royal Australian Institute of Architects FRAIA; appointed State Juror for Qld Architectural Awards [2013, 2014] Member Association of Consulting Architects Qld ; Teaching appointments at QUT and guest lecturing at UQ, architecture schools.

Paul is the founding Director of  Push, established in 2001 and is the Practice principal. He has built a well-earned reputation for design excellence in residential, cultural and public projects. Paul maintains involvement in Architectural education and training and is involved in the both the Board (BOAQ) and the Institute (AIA). His leadership at the practice brings an overarching commitment to some key principals that underpin the quality in all Architecture that is produced by Push:

  • Good design is essential in every aspect of a project;

  • Sustainability is fundamental in both the built product and in the social infrastructure of community. Sustainability transcends ‘green stars’ because the real benchmark is measured by both benefit to environment and social benefit to community;

  • A respect of history and a sensitive understanding of building and urban character leads to more meaningful outcomes;

  • Greening cities and urban environments through an emphasis on quality landscape design enhances the built environment.


ANNA CHAMBERLIN | DESIGN DIRECTOR, DESIGN ARCHITECT

Bachelor of Architecture, Qld University of Technology.  Registered Architect in Qld Member of Australian Institute of Architects

Anna joined Push in 2007 and progressed rapidly in both skill and responsibility to become a Director in 2022. She is now a leader in the design team. Anna has exemplary skills in strategic planning and conceptual design thinking., leading the team that produces clear 3D presentations of the big ideas that transform client briefs into exciting projects. Her success in the role as design lead has been recognised through the award winning projects Sunshine Beach Surf Life Saving Club,  Mount Whitsunday Residence, Griffith University Student Guild Uni Bar/ Link Eatery Refurbishment and the Brighton Twin Set


MICHAEL CHEN | OPERATIONAL DIRECTOR, PROJECT ARCHITECT

Bachelor of Architecture [Honours] University of Qld.  Registered Architect in Qld.  Member of Australian Institute of Architects

Michael joined Push in 2005, becoming Operational Director in 2022. Michael oversees the organisation of all project stages. He has an extensive knowledge and experience across all phases of Architectural service on a project and is also the BIM manager in the studio. Michael has special interest in building materials and construction technology; hence his role is focused on project delivery. His diligence and problem-solving skills help him manage projects through documentation and construction stage and ensure that the design intent is realised in the final built form. His ability had been recognised in architectural awards for Dharma Realm Shurangam Temple, JQ1 Apartments and the Fernvale Village Shopping Centre
